Met up with our ex-classmate, Rita, for dinner at Mr Curry @ The Central.
She is actually Indonesian Chinese. However, few people have mistaken her to be Malay.
Besides Malay, she speaks Chinese and Hokkien as well. She has actually told a few people off for saying something bad about her in Chinese and Hokkien. They thought she didn't understand.
Patrick dropped by Singapore yesterday, so I brought him out for dinner and drinks.
I met Patrick in Newcastle, Australia during my week-long student exchange trip. We were both staying at YHA Hostel. He's currently studying architectural design at the University of Newcastle. Since I was the only smoker in my group, he became my smoking buddy. Most of the nights, we would be standing outside in the cold, exchanging stories about our lifestyle and enjoying our cigarettes.
I brought him to Suan Thai Restaurant @ Liang Court since he wanted to try something Asian.
Followed by drinks at Brewerkz @ Riverside Point.
And of course the night wouldn't end for him, without trying one of the most potent beers around.
Spent the day at Siloso Beach @ Sentosa with my uni classmates.

The last time I met them was 2 years ago. Everybody still looks the same! There was plenty of stuff to talk about, especially when we haven't seen them for so long. But the 4 hours of sleep the night before (due to projects) threatened to pull my eyelids shut and I sent them back shortly before midnight. Definitely more to come!
Gabriel bought a Nespresso Krups coffee capsule machine and invited all of us over to his place @ Sennett Lane for coffee.
We had a huge variety of coffee to choose from. All we had to do was to pop the coffee capsule into the machine and wait for our coffee to be ready.
Clarisse, our barista for the day, helped prepare all the coffee and topped them up with milk froth.
Delicious!

Steamboat buffet dinner with Kenn, Jhene and Caleb at Happy Joy Restaurant @ Bukit Merah Central.
Afterward, we met up with Pang and headed over to Lot Stock and Barrel @ 30 Seah Street for some drinks.
The night was still young when we left, so we bought tons of beer and sat down outside National Library to drink. We were pretty high when we walked down to Selegie and sat down in a cybercafe to play Left 4 Dead. I don't even remember how bad my aiming was!
Pang gave up at the cybercafe.

Jessie and I went on a night fishing trip with Caleb, Kenny and Jhene. We rented bicycles and went down to some park connector stretch after Changi SAFRA to fish (some 10km away from the central part of East Coast). Kenny and Jhene were both seasoned fishermen! They helped us to set up our rods, taught us how to cast our lines and had superb detangling skills!
The final score :
Caleb - 2 (he got really lucky!)
Kenny - 1
Jhene - 1
Jessie and I - 0 (heh, I was enjoying my beer while watching Jessie fish)
Someone fished up a gunny sack as well, I forgot who! Anyways, a big thank you to Kenny and Jhene for teaching us how to fish! More fishing trips to come!
We're finally getting our well-deserved chill-out session after weeks of assignments, tutorials and presentations.

Great food.
Great company.
That is all that matters in a fantastic barbecue.
Waikian got hit by bomb bags at 1 a.m while he was sleeping. Pang produced his first food critic video, over a plate of mushrooms with mozzarella cheese. And shortly afterwards, he spanked me with a tong. That was even before we sat down to play drinking games.
I was high enough at that point of time and agreed to deliver a few wedgie shots. Sean Pillay joined in as well in a few of the shots.
When we did sit down to play drinking games, all hell broke loose when Waikian switched cards in the game. I was the unfortunate victim who had to down half a cup of raspberry vodka because he switched my card. And when I got wasted and defenceless, everyone had a fun time transforming me into a Joker, from the movie Dark Knight. I have never had so much lipstick on my face before.
After they were done, I had a good time grabbing those close to me and smearing lipstick all over them.

We celebrated National Day with a martini party at Jessie's place.
The Martinis-of-Honor contingent stood at attention, as the Chivas Regal bottle walked around to inspect the glasses. The parade finale item will be the aerobatic display lasting 6 minutes by the Bombay Sapphire to showcase its grace and precision within the confines of Marina Bay.
Pang, Bernadette, Jessie and I chilled out at One Rochester. It's basically a huge bungalow converted into a gastro-bar (a pub that sells food).
We managed to get a table, tucked away in a corner of the garden. Pang and I were sweating away because there wasn't much wind there, but the girls were surprisingly alright. Probably something to do with the thick makeup?

Pang just love to touch people at the wrong areas.
Jessie bought a new camera, so the two girls started cam whoring.
A pint of beer costs $15. I bought a Rainforest mocktail for $14 (ouch! that's pricey for a mocktail). This day marked 3 weeks of alcohol-free life for me.

Cheers! I was probably stunned by the flash.

Alec Walker, my next door neighbour, is going back to Texas (Rice University) on 17/06/08. And our friend Claire, is going back to Seoul (Korea University) on 21/06/08. They just finished their Student Exchange Programme at National University of Singapore.
The bunch of us decided to throw them a farewell dinner and cocktail party.
We had dinner at Marche @ Vivocity.
Followed by cocktails at Klee Bar @ Portsdown Road. Recommended by our dear friend Eugene, who is currently working as a waiter there. We started drinking in the taxi down to Klee Bar. We also drowned ourself in cocktails at the bar, almost $500 worth!

That's Eugene! First time mingling with him in person since I met him years ago on Orangeous!

$458 worth of cocktails. So drunk that I forgot what I drank.
June, Claire's Korean friend, joined us for some drinks after Alec left, and we took turns (secretly of course!) chugging at the bottle of Korean liquor which he brought along. We hid the bottle under the table.

That is June, also from Korea.
I was too drunk to even recall what happened that night, after we shifted from outdoor to indoor sitting. We took lots of pictures. The girls dared Eugene and I to take off our clothes and in a drunken stupor, we complied! Oh my god. And I didn't even recall doing that until I saw the pictures.

Ken, the bar manager, in the middle.
Big thanks to Eugene, who paid special attention to our table that night. We had lots and lots of fun!
The following night, my parents suggested that we bring Alec and Claire out for dinner at Jumbo @ Riverside Point.
We promised them that we would keep in touch and hopefully visit them in Texas and Seoul when we have the time and money to.
Farewell Alec and Claire! All of us here in Singapore will miss you both!

Jessie booked a chalet @ Downtown East from 18th to 20th April. The BBQ was held on 19th April.
Big thanks to all those who came :
1) Bernadette (we'll never be able to thank you enough for your help!)
2) Michelle (my sis) and Robert
3) Sean Pillay (thanks for the bottle of Jack Daniels)
4) Waikian
5) Pang
6) Kwok Leong (thanks for the bottle of wine)
7) Chee Nin
8) Auntie Susie (Jessie's mum, for all the snacks she brought)
9) Dad
10) Uncle Ho and family (dad's colleague)
Over 300 photos in this album from 3 different cameras! The three girls were simply just snapping away at everything. Now you can all take your own sweet time to look at yourselves from every angle possible.
Bernadette, Michelle, Robert and Waikian arrived early to help out. While the girls went shopping, I went to fetch Waikian, who had a bandaged toe.
We started the fire at about 6pm, as guests started to pour in.
Kwok Leong was the first one to arrive, bottle of red wine in his hand, helmet in the other and grinning away. Sean arrived shortly with a bottle of Jack Daniels. I think they both met up in the supermarket's alcohol section.
Everything was relatively tame when the parent's arrived. Only drinking, no smoking (we all had to go upstairs to smoke). No F-bombs were dropped, only occasional vulgarities.
All hell let loose once everyone left, and only seven of us were in the room. We consolidated the alcohol and bartender Pang mixed us some really wicked gin tonic. Waikian started cheating very early at drinking games. He would refuse to drink, then chalked up a huge debt of shots, which we made him pay back later. We played a simple drinking game which gave us the much needed kick to start the party off. Lowest card drinks.
Waikian cheated again by swapping cards, only to realize he was much worse off. By God's will, every card he took turned to shit. He drank 5 times in a row.
Meanwhile, the girls were also having fun with the costumes Bernadette brought along.
When we got really high, Waikian gave a lame excuse not to play. He pulled that stunt off at the wrong time, while everyone around was high. So all of us pounced on him, and tried to remove his pants. We didn't go very far and only managed to reveal the color of his underwear. So the girls started to paint him with nail polish and mascara. The fooling around ended when he tumbled through the huge gap between the beds, and we were worried that his already-damaged toe would drop off.
While the rest were sitting around taking their own sweet time to sip on their drinks and chit chat, Pang and I were shooting flaming gin.
The party ended around 3am, and as we dragged our drunk asses to send Pang, Waikian and Sean off to take a taxi home, we unknowingly made a fool of ourselves near the entrance. Only Bernadette was sober at that point of time, and she took those pictures.
The very next day, while our heads were mercilessly pounded by endless headaches from the hangover, we looked back and told ourselves: WE HAD A GOOD TIME AFTER ALL!

Chris (yes..2 Chris-es), Chris (that's me), Sukhdesh and Gupreet
Met up with the ex-BMT guys for coffee.
Chris (in white) is currently in OCS. Not as a cadet, but working as a clerk there :D He downgraded before BMT ended.
Sukhdesh and Gupreet both were my bunk mates, their beds just right across mine. Normally during our route marches, sergeants would suggest that they split themselves up, one in front, one at the back... to act as 'traffic lights'! (damn racist i know). When one of them goes missing, the Company Sergeant Major would normally yell 'Where the other one? Go home cook curry?'.
Sukhdesh is currently a senior technician regular for the RSAF. Being an aircraft technician, he decides which planes to crash.
Gupreet, (of all vocations for this lazy lazy boy...) is a combat engineer. Unable to take the stress of building bridges that won't work, he decided to go out of course and downgrade! He loves to bathe after lights out. I was pissing one night when he came out of the shower naked with his turban off and curly hair all covering his face. I jumped.
