After spending more than a month away in Amsterdam, Mum has finally returned. We picked her up from the airport and celebrated her 56th birthday at Stonegrill @ East Coast Road. She received a Toscano wallet from Jessie and her mum.
You guys did it again! Thank you my dear Jessie and my dear friends for the wonderful 23rd birthday surprise. It popped up a week early this time, on 25th of October, totally throwing me off guard!
For years straight, you guys always had me fooled into thinking we're just having a normal dinner. Then one by one, all of you start popping up with birthday greetings and presents!
We had dinner at Absolute Haven @ 70 Princep Street, before heading down to Timbre @ Substation.

Went over to Sakae Teppanyaki, Cineleisure Orchard to have dinner with Michelle and Robert.
Michelle had a big surprise when she returned to the hotel.
We were having a pyjama party, so everyone changed into their pyjamas. I didn't have any, so I was forced to change into a bathrobe. For the entire night, everyone called me a nun.
We spent the night playing drinking games and laughing away.

This friday, Jessie told me we would be meeting her best friend, Chee Nin, for dinner at Marina Square. When I reached there, I was led to Marina Mandarin, where her friend was supposedly waiting. There was no friend waiting. She cooked up this story because if I were told that just the two of us were having dinner, I would have fobbed the whole idea off with an excuse "Can we do this some other time? Fucking law project due tomorrow."
She brought me to Aquamarine. Nevertheless, I was pleased with the whole plan. It's been a long time since I had good food in a quiet, relaxing environment like this. Table reserved three weeks ago through one of her working-there-chef friends, Andrew. Bill paid long before hand. This girl can really plan surprises well.
Food was fantastic. Would have been better if Andrew was cooking! Baby lobsters, oysters, and little finger-nail sized bottles of Tabasco sauce in a bowl. I recommend the desserts. If you were to try each and every single type they have there, you're bound to be at least 3/4 full. They only serve Hagen Daaz ice cream. And the fondue fountain is so tall, you can dip anything in chocolate. I gorged myself for two whole hours
The service was by far excellent. Waitresses stopping by to fold your napkins and clear your table once you leave your seat to get more food. Jessie left her jacket at one of the chairs, and the waitress ran all the way to the smoking corner outside just to pass it back to her.
By 9:45, we were back at Marina Square, walking back to the car. And the busy bustling shopping mall was a real contrast compared to the quiet and classy feel at Marina Mandarin. Now I know why the rich can't stand crowds and noise.
Thank you my girl. Promise you we'll dine like this at least once every weekend when we're working. =D
And on Wednesday night, it was dinner at Jumbo, Clark Quay with grandma as the guest of honor. Our ex-maid (for 10 years!) taking care of grandma came along as well. Again, Jessie had pre-ordered yet ANOTHER birthday cake.
And tonight, I had dinner with the clerks at Marche. Jason came along with Alvin and his girlfriend Marie. Thank you guys so much for the Adidas t-shirt!
Jessie told me she had a company event at One Degree Fifteen, and coaxed me to Suntec to meet her friend. And then my friends just popped out of nowhere and my jaws dropped. That's right, I got fooled! Weeks ago, there were lots of planning done undercover between Jessie, my best friends, my sister and her boyfriend.
I was then ushered to Kuishinbo where we had a sumptuous buffet dinner.

(from left) Elgene, Wenbin, Kian, Jessie, me, Pang, Robert and Michelle
Followed by heavy-duty drinking at Loof, where the guys brought me three Waterfalls! Didn't manage to knock me out till I got home at three! Haha!

Kwok Leong, our PSB classmate, who turned up at Loof!

She's the ultimate surprise planner!
Big big thanks to :
1. My girl Jessie for the Braun Buffel money clip wallet! And for being the Chef de Mission weeks before this party, running around to make sure everything went smoothly. And... being such a fantastic storyteller who would even "swear" that nobody was free to meet up during my birthday.
2. Michelle and Robert for the black Ralph Lauren polo tee.
3. Kwok Leong, my PSB classmate who turned up at Loof with a box of Chocz and a Fox T-shirt. It was a real surprise because he pretended that he didn't know anything at all in class!
4. Kian, Pang, Elgene and Wenbin for the blue Playstation Portable. Yes, I was shocked to my balls to receive such an expensive present. Pang went down all the way to CCK to get it and Kian bought the cake. The cake was deposited at Loof long before I arrived.
Thank you all so much for the wonderful birthday surprise. I am really grateful and honored to have such a loving girlfriend, wonderful best friends and a adorable little sister.

Jessie had a kick-start to her 22nd Birthday celebrations with dinner at Coca Restaurant, at Takashimaya.

We had a massive drinking session at Indochine, near the Asian Civilizations Museum, well hosted by our waiter-cum-friend, Bonny.
Jessie took on two flaming drinks as a 22nd Birthday Challenge. She had no choice because everybody around her was urging her to.

Burning Waterfall (the real killer)
The flames were hellova fuckin cool. The Burning Waterfall was perfectly made, and when she finished up the last drop, the whole place burst out in applause. You should take a look at the videos.
Fantastic celebration we had. Everybody got home high, and we ordered tons and tons of different drinks. Too bad the Strawberry Shortcake was too good and there was nothing left to smash on the birthday girl.
Happy 22nd Birthday my dear Jessie!

Thank you Jessie, Pang, Waikian, Puang, Wenbin + Trisha, Michelle + Robert, Adeline + Nick! You guys made my 21st Birthday the most memorable one I've ever celebrated! *wheeeeew* And thank you my darling Jessie for oh-so-secretly coordinating everything behind my back, everybody called her "The Mastermind". Thank you Kenneth for turning up despite your busy schedule at your Far East shop!
Jessie and the entire gang caught me totally offguard this time! She had planned weeks before with almost everybody around me and I was the LAST! Yes, the last to know about it.
I met her at Taka for our usual Saturday-afternoon-lazing-around-town. Pang turned up, surprisingly early and we were walking over to meet him. Then I saw Waikian. Weird, this guy is PERPETUALLY late, and he reached even earlier than I did today! We accompanied Kian to draw some cash and returned to Far East, where we saw Puang outside KFC. That's fuckin amazing, almost the whole gang's here earlier than I am!
Me : Let's have dinner at Far East. Indo food at the top!
Jessie and the rest : Er. Don't want la, follow us!
*They continued walking towards Goodwood Park Hotel*
Me : Where you guys wanna eat? Further up nothing to eat already..
Jessie : Got, got. Just follow.
And I found myself walking up the red carpet of Goodwood Park Hotel. Something was amiss. And I started interrogating Jessie, but she just laughed it off. She walked up to the Coffee Lounge, "Reservation under Jessie". And she the rest turned to me, handed me my presents. The feeling was simply fantastic.
Trust me, I've never felt so STUNNED IN MY LIFE! Table for 10 = A lot of money. I didn't have that cash with me right then so I panicked and called up Michelle, only to find out that my Dad (who was involved as well) gave her 400 bucks to pay for the table.
The plan slowly unraveled. Dinner at Goodwood Park Hotel -> Followed by The Balcony @ Heerens (my birthday cake was ALREADY there! Jessie dropped it off before coming to meet me) -> Followed by 12-3am KTV session @ Party World.
My balls went up to my throat! This celebration was massive!
We walked over to The Balcony after that, ordered two bottles of Champagne.

Then I realized I didn't have enough cash to foot the bill and Jessie paid the $232 in cash. My my what the fuck, this place is god-damned expensive! I ain't never gonna drink there again!
There was left over cake, Jessie started smearing it all over my face. Happens every birthday to everybody.
...and Wenbin came up with this really really fuckin bad (fuckin evil asshole) idea to smash Waikian with the leftovers. Jessie, Pang and I willingly volunteered our assistance, so that makes us assholes as well :D (And btw, Jessie's "missile" was the LARGEST piece, but she refuses to claim responsibility for anything)
Sorry Waikian..

But we were so engrossed in it, we went way too far! We're sorry!
We smuggled beer with the many plastic bags I was carrying into Party World. I know it's cheapskate, but what to do, we're trying to get the best of both worlds. Our complimentary cups of mocktails were soon magically refilled with Stella, Long Island, Baron and Tiger. Waikian tried to get back at the both of us by cheating at five-ten, which he succeeded with Kenneth's help, and at the end of it all, we were both walking/stumbling out of Party World in a damn high state.

The Presents

Thank you my darling for the DKNY dress-watch you bought! It's the most expensive thing I have on me now and I really really like it! And thank you for the really kinky little card with all your lipstick marks over it.
Thank you Pang, Waikian, Puang , Bin + Trisha for this wonderful long sleeved shirt you all bought from RE! I know it costs a bomb (somebody leaked the price out, haha). Comes with a nice bag as well :D Thank you thank you!

Thank you my dear sis Michelle and my "future-brother-in-law" Robert for the sexy lil fcuk t-shirt and card! Inside the card, they both wrote "I know what you and Jessie will do tonight." Ahem!

And last but not least, thank you Adeline and Nick for the adult-card-game you both bought. Thank you both for your beautifully drawn card as well (I think it's adeline's handwriting). Adult toys aren't cheap I know! But we'll make full use of it alright! Thanks!
I'll always look back at this memorable moment with a smile :D It was the best birthday celebration I've ever had!
Thank you all! The rest of the unpublished pictures are inside the Photo Album.

Grandma turns 79! And we threw her a barbecue to celebrate. Big thank you to..
1. Dad's best friend, Uncle Ho who bought along his whole family.. and his cute lil hyperactive daughter who kept bugging Kian. (Why Kian? Why not someone else? Just look at Kian's hair!)
2. Jessie's mum, who drove down all the way to Upper Serangoon after work, bought 10 packets of durians down to the barbecue.
3. Pang, who came down all the way from Woodlands after work!
4. Kian, who joined me and Jessie at Carrefour to shop for crabs. This guy doesn't dare to pick up live crabs, even with a pair of tongs.
5. Michelle, Robert and the maid, who worked so hard to pull this last-minute barbecue off.
6. Jessie! This girl really rocks when it comes to shopping for groceries. No problem finding anything!

Was down with a bad bout of flu and fever for the past few days. Miraculously, I woke up feelin fine today. Recovered just in time.
Just came back from a really fun barbecue. Combined birthday celebration, killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Totally budget. Plenty of food (featuring: stingray, otah, prawns, curry chicken), plenty of vodka (courtesy of Nicole, Wenbin's cousin).. it was a PERFECT barbecue. Bin put in lots of effort getting the food ready while I was bed-ridden at home, thank you bro!
Not many people turned up, just... Nasye, Adeline, Pang, Waikian, Trisha + Wenbin, Donna and Nicole. So much for "the more the merrier", tonight's bbq was just the right size, small, yet fun.
Thank you guys for the cake!
