I Killed A Bird With My Car
Birds normally fly away in time when a car approaches. Not this time.
I was going at approximately 40km/h. There was a bird in the middle of the lane. As the bird was trying to fly away, my car bumper caught it in mid-air. I assume it was quite a huge impact because of the loud "pop" sound. The collision sent the bird tumbling past the left window.
Immediately after the collision, I noticed another dead bird lying on the ground.
The only logical explanation I can think of :
1. The bird was engrossed in trying to move its dead friend.
2. It didn't notice my car coming and therefore wasn't able to fly away in time.
For the next half hour after that accident, I was in a state of shock, until Jessie managed to talk me out of it.

LoL! I can't believe how the things you do often remidns me of myself. :D I did exactly the same years ago while still studying in Australia. We had an SAF Airforce friend who was based in the West Australian airbase, and after sending him back to base, it was just a stretch of long unwinding Australian 2 lane road. I was passing by a forest, and there were a flock of parrots feeding on the road.
I went at them probably 110km/h, and saw feathers in the wake of my car. :P
Thinking back at it, I regret it now of course..... ah... the foolishness of youth.
Oh no! You couldn't possibly stop in time could you? Moreover, a FLOCK of parrots! I guess it happened so fast they didn't feel any pain.
Must have been traumatic for you.
