We added more stripes..
A old Civic 1.5GL with racing stripes =D Big thanks to Jessie for helping me finish up the stripes, enduring 7 long hours standing in the basement carpark, measuring, marking, cutting stripes and polishing this Diablo-Dildo up. Sometimes when I got frustrated that the lines weren't stuck in place, I would start screaming before tearing them out in a rage. Luckily she was there to help me fix it up and climb all over the car to position the stripes.
The uncle initially charged $120 for only 1 line down the bonnet. 3 lines would have cost much more. So I asked him how much it would cost to print the stickers then stick it on my own. $60. That's about half the price! We tore out all the stickers, all the logos, and washed the car before we began.
So, armed with a squeegee and lots of soap water, we managed to DIY the stripes.

agreed ! 3 strips looks much nicer, and it looks like professional work LOL nicely done, and saved 70 bucks :X

I guess the top area is the very difficult to reach area. And the bumper-bonnet with lots of crevices is the most troublesome one.

Lancerlord : Yea, you're absolutely right. Nowadays new car designs very slick, very easily to polish without having to worry about wax getting stuck in crevices. Racing stripes even easier to do. Mine old car, pain in the ass to wax and do the stripes. My Honda logo cannot remove, otherwise two holes, so I've got to cut a hole through the sticker. Even so, the sticker won't fit nicely and there are red parts of the bonnet around the logo not covered, so got to patch up with white stickers. Upon really close inspection, can see the patch up.
eugene : FWHAHAHA! Re-spray second hand car?! Not worth it la. Just wanted to give it the classic look. Too bad not driving old VW beetle, otherwise would have been real classic.

The ah pek there is really skilled. They specialize in ALPINE speakers. They use ORACAL stickers, which imho, are pretty damn longlasting even under intense sun. Bird shit leave on the sticker for a week, baked and dried, one swipe can remove already and he promised me that the stickers wont turn yellow.
He initially quoted me $60 for the middle 12inch thick stripes. But upon cutting, he told me that it didn't cost so much and charged me $48, with a LOT of excess just in case I screw up. Pretty honest guy.
the additional 2 stripes cost only $15.

joel... yes he does. all kinds of printing, as long as it's sticker, be it custom design or template, he does it.

Had wanted to try a EG6 or EG9 but gave up that idea, since the newer car prices were tempting.

my car is old Civic 1.5 GL, left only 4 years, with a engine that really drinks like horse. avg km/l is around 10.48, my pocket really burn a hole. Normally if I switch to high gear quickly around 2000rpm, I can get around 12 instead of dragging the gear. My car still got many people drive. Usually the old ah peks that park outside kopitiam. Haha!
EG6/9 rocks. Lightweight, yet fast, but sure only left a few years to scrap, so modifying it would be costly. I think new car better la. I like the new Jazz a lot. Just original, as it is.
What car are you driving now?
i m doing an auto picanto, bought at round 43k.
1.1L...so lacks in power...ideal for city driving and parking.

don't worry abt power la. the most sell it before 5 years so it don't depreciate further. buy muffler make exhaust pipe big, loud, noisy. car exterior nice can liao, the most tell people "give you chance la, i lazy to open bonnet"
is 12.5 the norm or you havent gone for servicing for a long time?
for auto, yes, 12.5 is avg...
At least both your effort paid off. I looks seamless from far.
Nevermind the patches, I guess will hardly notice them even walking past your car. Only car fanatics will stick their face near the car to see see look look. Else from far definitely look fierce. I think driving along the road, all other drivers see you coming from behind sure siam you one. :)
joel : i think its pretty much OK mileage. i think people like us who grumble about mileage should get hybrid cars =D
lancerlord : haha, thanks, it was a lot of fun experimenting with DIY stickers. i only get to do it once in a lifetime, with an old car. next time new car no more already, otherwise "xim tiah" (heartache). everybody does siam me! even though car fierce, but owner go damn slow. normally among all the cars, i leave first, but last to reach.
