Ouch. Some of my friends had their bikes stolen in JB as well, and I have Malaysian friends who tell me such stories. Those thieves only need 6 seconds to steal a bike and 60 seconds to steal a car. I have lived in JB for 6 months years ago.

It seems like Sillyporeans are always the target. My car was jacked 3 times and I had been forced off the road once by a road bully driving a truck.

Best to avoid JB is you are unfamilar with the place. The city is full of murderers, thieves, robbers and what-have-you, more than any other states in Bolehland.

To be fair, I think this is just one of those freak isolated crime. We should condemn the criminal and not the country.

It does pay to be kind. You meet crappy pple, even in Sg too...not much of a difference, don't u think? Whether its cruel or not, bring a knife along and fight back...as for boycotting jb, its another issue, we SG pple will still go no matter what cause its cheap...haha..bring a parang next time for counter attack pple!

2. Corrupt government (who care more for self-profit than civil order)

I also kena rob near J.B custom on the 12 DEC 2005.My cousin lost his money (Rm100) while i lost my $10 and Rm10.Lucikily they didn't take our life away.When i walked along the shops below the MERLIN TOWER (facing towards the customs),I noticed that a chinese man(mid-30s) was getting closer to my cousin who was behind me.He then demended money,we have no other options but to surrender our money.After asking for our money,he demanded our handset.Lucikily i didn't give my Nokia 6600 to him.I thought of running away but it was not safe.After this sh*t ended,my cousin and i returned to Singapore.We are frustrated with that fu*king incident.My cousin told me that it isin' safe to run away because his friend had gotten beaten before near CITY SQUARE(a few month before).To all fellow Singaporean,if you are being robbed,just surrender all your valueable.BETTER LOSE YOUR VALUEABLE THAN LOSE YOUR LIFE.......

i partly agree tt it's a dangerous place and all but i once travelled on 2nd link saw a couple of small bikes (found out later those were singaporeans) on the road shoulder they weren't flagging me down but i found out later tt they were trying to flag down cars (but were unsuccessful) coz one of their friends had an accident and couldn't move .. so sometimes it's when we dun stop that it's a real emergency .. just exercise caution though .. peace

My uncle also say the same abt being in Malaysia... If got accident or car breakdown, DON'T STOP TO HELP... Really... Not joking here. It doesn't really help to be helpful over there... :(

i remembered Lee Kuan Yew also publicy commented that johore is an unsafe place many years back. He also apologised after the malaysia PM rebuked at his comments. I think we are all wrong...they have helpful citizens and police over there. I am sure everyone agrees with me.

i had my bike stolen once at JB in yr 2000(parked at a very crowed shopping mall very near the custom)....then in 2001 aug...it was found in PJ(near KL)....

I see the problem really lies with the politicians in Johor. With all these problems happening in JB, they should be doing something. Like firing the Police commissioner in charge of JB for not doing anythin. Also i can safely assume that it may not be the malaysians who did this.

Im a Singaporean and im an avid goer to JB, drives there 2-3 times every week for petrol, supper and shop, in fact i travel throughout Malaysia often as well. Ive seen assaults among fellow locals even and thank god i do not have any very bad experiences before except for a few minor ones. The ultimatum is, always travel in groups when you are there or any places in this world where you are unfamiliar with. Thats about it. If you are confident to travel alone, by all means. Also, i can understand that some, and i really mean some, not few not many, of our fellow Singaporeans are being proud themselves flaunting their super bikes and luxury cars when they are in a foreign land. Everywhere in this world bound to have such cases if not worst. If you are in other countries you are not spared as well. So, i believe take precautions as best. Such as travel in groups, very sure of the place u are heading to and get to know your emergency exit or else dont. Or it is just as simple as follow what is being taught in primary school at our young tender age, "Dont talk to strangers", "Dont loiter in the dark alleys", "Dont wander of alone". Being in a foreign land is like being at a young age and ignorant since u are not fully aware of the lifestyles, rules and regulations. Retaliation is never a resolution. Peace.

Hey, i was told by a friend of mine that he and his friends, all of them are from NYP, got robbed in broad daylight too on 25/11/2005. They kept the matter to themself.
What i see is that these malaysian robbers are getting too far. Recently, on 26/12/2005... a msg were sent all over singapore, through mobile set that a singaporean were beaten up, bike stolen and girlfriend rape. This shows that hey are getting too far and from what i feel, their police ought to do something. Or else, we shall do something for them.
I was thinking we,singaporean got into groups, especially those who thinks that there have revenge towards them. We get together, about 20 of us. few will become a bait for the robbers. while the rest keep an eye alert.
Once the "friendly" robbers approach them and invite the 'bait' to some places... After the bait get rounded up, the rest, will be ready to berserk them! Hit them well, teach them a lesson.

I am a Spore PR from Msia. Yes...i do agree that when it comes to law and order, to certain extent its not very safe in JB. (Fyi according to the Msian statistic, JB was ranked the top unsafe city in Msia and KL comes after some time ago) Every weekend when i return home to JB, I can notice many amazing things at the bus stop behind the City Square Shopping Mall and near to KOMTAR while i am waiting for bus to go home. Plenty of pickpockets...and to tell you, they are definitely not locals...but the Indonesians malays!! I dun mean the local malays dun do it, everywhere is the same, and even the Chineses can rob u in broad daylight too. Those pickpockets "work" and coordinate in groups. (And please please PLEASE DON'T carry ur haversack at the back, ALWAYS put it at the front when come to these crowded places no matter where you are...and DON'T show ur wallet so openly in the public, its not that people wanna rob or pickpocket u, its u yourself who is tempting them to do so) Of course this is not as bad as the slashing and robbery where bloodshed is involved. I also sympathise with friends who are the victims.

But sometime i just wonder why some Sillyporeans on one hand they keep badmouthing abt Msia...saying its dirty, its unsafe, low standard etc...and on the other hand, they still visit Msia. Why? Simply because they are afterall taking advantage of the low currency exchange rate to spend in JB. You can see the flow of incoming traffic from Spore to JB along the causeway every weekend. Out of 10 cars, i can tell u...8 of them are Spore registered. And the human traffic in JB Custom, the Sillyporeans queues are still the longest!!!

My dear friend, i understand that we usually go to malaysia to take advantage of the rates there. furthermore, their goods are much cheaper. Why not, we gonna benefit from it anyway. Good for us, singaporeans as individual, as well as good for Malaysia economoy. So, undenying, we will still go there no matter what happens.
From what i think, you too do work in Singapore as the income received in Singapore, being is much more than working in Malaysia alone. Don;t you think that you too are taking advantage of strong Sing dollars.
What i,m trying to explain is that, taking advantage is not a sin nor a mistake. Everybody doing this for their own benefit. whereas here in Sg, what happened this one time was:
a malaysian worker with a J plate(bike) met with an accident here. he was then fully attended with lots of can say caring ppl around, helping to call the ambulance for help. passers-by stoping to help. i was the 2nd person to stop and help and then there's 1 more to stop and jaga the traffic, as the bike was right in the middle of a t-junction. a few stayed until he was taken away, to make sure he doesn't move unnecessarily. our police also don get choosy of who they are attending too.

and if u say that we get beaten up because we deserves to as we want cheap stuffs, ur really stupid. because, we have relatives here and there at jb. such actions called 'VISITING' existed.. what worth is it if we only go there to visit a relatives gets the same treatment?

1) Crows population shifted from KL/Klang to Jb...<----(crime in jb escalatated after the 97/98 retrenchment in s'pore that lay off mostly m'sian leads to this?)
2) Crows needed material to builds their home...<----(my home in Pelangi been broken into twice around Ramadhan festival, does the Indon needed fast cash before being deported back to Indonesia?)

Well i've read all the crapss u guys and gals wrote... i'm so embarrased when i read all the remarks from singapore ppl and malaysian...regardless weather u are chinese, malay, indian or caucasian..from my point of view it seems that all country are not safe. Even if u go to other country u just need to be extra careful. Last 3 month my parents went to JB they were at KipMart and my mum witness a robbery in the Jewlery shop it self it was a terrifing tragedy this robbery had a gun and i dont even noe where do they got that from? Try to imagine everone in the supermaket heard the gun shot and run haywire. goodness! my mum told me that she tought it was like in a movie pple run everywhere kids crying some just fell and kena step like prata... well it is dangerous

Refer to Jeff msg : The police asked him for all his money and lucky him he only had 30rm in his pocket well.. theres once my family went to Pahang and were at their highway and theres a Road block but co-incident the road block there was only 2 police ONLY we were scared that we have been stop by the police trafic and to my attention one of the police call my dad to step out from the car and he even stop another singapore car behind us, so both my dad and the other guy was call and were talking at the corner and they were like talking for ard 3 minutes.. i was shocked when i saw both of them took out their wallets and gave a few rm50 ringgit to the police. when my dad return to our car we ask him why did he pay his summons on the spot. So my dad told us that the police threaten him to pay 200rm to them and they will close the case with regards to his speeding when actually my dad was not speeding at all. try to imagine the police got RM 400... well just hope that malaysia would really do some change in law. Well just hope that malaysian goverment read this... its not bcoz of racist or criticism. It just need to do lots of change. Guys me from JB working in SG, just bought one new bike in SG, Honda CBR 150 yellow color. One month old only. Damn was stolen in Tmn Johor Jaya near Giant hypermarket,on 2 jan 06, parked in broad daylight. Just parked for 10 mins and now gone. I think they tailled me. Two malay guy insert their key and rode it away. PPL got see from other shop, thought its their bike. So Sporean with bike or car, wherever u go, pls be more extra careful. i havent wake up from the scene. Gonna hunt for those ill cultured.

hope ya friend rosdee get well soon, i also escape death 3 years ago, that time i was driving my uncle car into JB intent to fetch my uncle. so i was ask to wait at the hongkong street restuant near duty free that side, a malay guy came to my car door knokin and so i wind down abit, he said i have stare at his friends and his friends wanna beat me up. so if i give them RM$2k they will forget everything. i give him middle finger and took a one dollar coin and throw out to him, he get pissed and took a small .38 gun out and hitting banging on the car i am in, not long my uncle came out with his KL friends and see that i am in trouble, they rush over in a group and shouting at him , he got panic and run away. and after that i get f by my uncle. because of what can get me in. hmm until now i been wondering is that gun loaded or not, or else he could have shoot me instead, but its a lucky escape for me somehow.. and hope some fellow friends who going in jb, just try not to be in one or two, go in a group of all big big size one and will be less targetted by robbers, normally those robber they are drug adit and have no money for drug so they rob and hurt pple. mostly ya can find some small alley at ah fu street alots of needle and pple inject themself. police see also ba botoh only. i see liao also shock . dont know what is police for somehow shake head x 2. runnin at 80km/per hour they said u speeding, then i guess ya all know what they want aready lah, road board stated 110km/per hour at high way

They are all so lazy except the traffic police, always like to catch ppl speeding and drink driving ...

Just be more careful and stay alert when ur outside, not all places are as safe as in Singapore.

Screw all the thieves and robbers out there! Stop critisizing the countries out there! Grow up ...

1. If you are riding a bike to Singapore for work every morning - be careful - a bunch of teenagers on bikes are waiting to attack you from your back and ransack your belongings - there was a day(morning actually) when 4 workers from the same company kena, these ill-breds are still at large despite the ambush by the authority.
2. If you are going jb to shop - beware of snatch thief - normally they are in bikes. Better don't go - If you are looking for good quality product, don't go Jb - Not cheap + quality cannot be guaranteed, only go there if what you want is groceries or lower price items - anyway, you can get them at ShengSiong, no difference in price and quality
3. If you are driving to jb - beware of cars and bikes following you closely, a few instances where they (in a board daylight)attacked car drivers even in front of traffic light (red).
3. If you stay there(jb), you have to be alert even when you arrive at your front gate, beware of unknown car or bike parking near you - they are normally with passengers, they have been many cases in which these passengers suddenly came to you and attcked.
4. If you have daughters need to go out in the early morning to wait for school bus - think again - there is this car with usually 4 passengers (very dark skin) will suddenly stop by your daughter and try to pull her into their car, for boys, well, they also pull, with different purpose. In Bukit Indah a girl was pulled into a car, she was later found dead (raped) at a remote outskirt. There were however few unsuccessful attacks - the victims are alert enough to sense something wrong when they saw these dark people run to them, they are also brave enough to run, a lot of people will just stand still when facing likely danger, but are your daughter/sons that alert and brave? think again.

If you are doing business there - use electronic payment or by cheque, there are many instances where (no know how) robbers will know you withdraw big sum of money, in one case, the teller out-of-the-blue yelled "Mr XX, you have withdrawn 300,000 from your account har!" once the man walked out of the bank, he was robbed.
6. before or during festive seasons - "ghosts" will come out and "find food" so that they can have a great celebrations too. Don't be the victims and become the feeder of these suckers. Don't speed, keep to your line, don't go unfamiliar places, better still - just don't go.

We should not attack the country or certain races. These are crimes we are talking about, we should condemn the criminals. Seriously, Singaporeans do not need to suffer all these - just don't go, don't make yourself a victim. Let the locals deal with it themselves.
